Living Positive Victoria expresses our sympathy on the passing of Neil Shepherd, a friend and colleague of the organisation for many years.

Neil had a long history with Living Positive Victoria, when he joined our board in 2009 and held the position of Treasurer for three years. A vocal and dedicated advocate of all people living with HIV, Neil was particularly committed to assisting older and young people facing social isolation and financial hardship.

Neil was a lawyer by profession, and devoted and donated much of his time to providing legal advice to PLHIV in dire need of assistance and representation.

“Neil was a generous and highly skilled member of our organisation and contributed greatly to building the professionalism and strength of our board,” said CEO Richard Keane.

“I had a very close friendship with Neil prior to my involvement with Living Positive Victoria and he remained a mentor of mine after his engagement as Treasurer on our Board of Directors. I was thrilled to celebrate the announcement of becoming CEO with him at our most recent Planet Positive event and will never forget the support he has shown me over the years. I feel his loss quite acutely.”

We extend our condolences to his family and friends, and honour his contribution to our organisation with pride and respect.
