Our First Viral Stories, A Major Success

Living Positive Victoria was so pleased with the success of Viral Stories, Australia’s first storytelling night for people with HIV.

Hosted by storyteller Gary Paramanathan, six local storytellers shared intimate stories that showcased the incredible diversity of experiences within our communities.

Held at the Ian Potter Centre NGV, the Melbourne community was out in full support to hear this incredible collection of stories.

Beau Newham, LPV’s Community Development Officer, said that he was “floored by the talent of the storytellers and their willingness to let all of us into their lives for one evening”.

Given the success of the event, Beau is excited to plan the next event which can hopefully build on the success of this year’s Viral Stories to come back bigger and better this year.

If you were unable to join us in person, don’t worry. Some of the stories will soon be released as short form podcasts so everyone can experience a taste of the evening.

Viral Stories was made possible with support from the City of Melbourne.

Living Positive Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
