Nominations to fill 2 board positions via a secondary election process are now open

Call for nominations

Living Positive Victoria’s mission is to enable and empower all people affected by and living with HIV to be part of a response that seeks an end to the HIV epidemic. A strong and effective board will keep people living with HIV at the forefront of the response. This will require a dedicated team to align with the vision of the organisation to see a world where people living with HIV live their lives to their full potential, in good health and free from discrimination.

At Living Positive Victoria’s recent 2021 AGM our members voted resoundingly to reinforce the importance of our organisation being community driven and led by people living with HIV.

There are currently 2 board vacancies, offered to full members of Living Positive Victoria. The call for nominations is now open.

Newly appointed President, Craig A Brennan says “This is an exciting time to become part of TEAM LPV through participating on our Board of Governance. This is your opportunity to add your voice, your skills and your lived experience as a person living with HIV to our governance team, as we look forward to 2022 and adapting the learnings and advances made over the last 2 years to keep our organisation at the forefront of the Victorian response to HIV. We seek and encourage representation from emerging communities of gender, identity and cultural diversity.

Beyond ensuring the good governance of the organisation, elected directors will play a significant role overseeing the implementation of our Strategic Plan 2018 and Beyond, as well as supporting staff, volunteers and stakeholders through new opportunities and challenges as we advocate for the health and wellbeing of the HIV community in Victoria.

The board and staff of Living Positive Victoria are guided by the following values:

Dignity – We are proud of who we are, where we have come from, and the path we are leading.
Innovation – We are agile in our responsiveness to the needs of our community, effecting change from within.
Respect – We respect and support our members’ autonomy over their individual life-decisions and experiences.
Diversity – We support, and in turn are strengthened by, our community’s diversity and their confidence to express it in all aspects of life.
