Call for nominations
Living Positive Victoria’s mission is to enable and empower all people affected by and living with HIV to be part of a response that seeks an end to the HIV epidemic. A strong and effective board will keep people living with HIV at the forefront of the response. This will require a dedicated team to align with the vision of the organisation to see a world where people living with HIV live their lives to their full potential, in good health and free from discrimination.
Beyond ensuring the good governance of the organisation, elected directors will play a significant role overseeing the implementation of our Strategic Plan 2018 and Beyond, as well as supporting staff, volunteers and stakeholders through new opportunities and challenges as we advocate for the health and wellbeing of the HIV community in Victoria.
The board and staff of Living Positive Victoria are guided by the following values:

Living Positive Victoria President, Christabel Millar, says that “this year we have some fantastic opportunities to join our board. Being part of the board has exposed me to high level professional development and also kept me constantly connected to my community, no matter what challenges the past 18 months have had in store. There are opportunities for advanced governance training and multiple working groups to get involved in, including working with our culturally and linguistically diverse community, IT and fundraising groups, and the commencement of our Reconciliation Action Plan. The board is seeking four new directors via an election process this year and we are excited to invite folk from all levels of experience to put forward a nomination. All types of skills are welcome. Representation is also deeply important and at Living Positive Victoria, we are committed to supporting new board directors. I strongly encourage any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members to apply as well as trans folk and women members, members who engage in sex work and non-binary and gender non-conforming members. We also have a co-opted position available so I also hope our allies and associate members apply for this opportunity to bring their expertise and knowledge to support Living Positive Victoria. Nominations are now open and close at 11:59pm on Thursday 16 September 2021. There are a total of four (4) positions available for election. These positions must be held by full members of the organisation and are elected by members. An election will only be conducted if the number of nominees exceeds the number of vacant positions.
