Finding HIV care and treatment

It is important for you to see a HIV doctor regularly to check your health and prescribe your medications.

HIV medications in Australia are on Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) which means they can be accessed at a more affordable rate by people with a Medicare card.

People without access to Medicare can access HIV treatments free from government funded hospital pharmacies, and they but may still have to pay for the costs of seeing a HIV doctor and associated blood tests. Find out the latest at napwha.org.au/medicare-ineligibles

HIV specialists such as doctors, are trained to prescribe HIV treatments and they can answer more general HIV-related questions.
