“The peach coloured pill is for my high blood pressure, the light pink pill is for high cholesterol, oh, and these are my antivirals.”

As we get older and take on more health conditions, it seems that the wonderful progress that has been made in HIV treatment – we no longer need to remember to take multiple pills at various times every day, now it’s just one or two a day – isn’t necessarily transferring to our total pill count. High blood pressure and high cholesterol are just two things that we may be dealing with that require additional medication.

Our friends and experts at the Alfred Hospital Pharmacy are going to help us make sense of it all by giving us a run down on how to manage taking lots of pills for lots of things.

Remember, as always, whenever you are considering changing or stopping your medications, it’s always best to do it in partnership with your HIV specialist.

Please Note: Due to the current COVID situation this session will be online. A Zoom link will be sent to registrants via email.

Please note: Living Positive Victoria and Thorne Harbour Health prioritise the health and safety of their members as we navigate back to in-person events. While we do not require mask-wearing indoors, we do encourage everyone to wear a mask as the pandemic is ongoing.

Don’t forget to check out our ‘Well Beyond 50’ website. It features some great stories, and plenty of useful information.

Taking Charge is a partnership between Living Positive Victoria and Thorne Harbour Health.
