Date:
June 25, 2020
Time:
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

This month’s Dinner & Chat* will be presented as an online event, welcoming women and heterosexual men living with HIV.

We invite you to join us for an evening with a focus on health and wellbeing. Your partners are welcome to join in.

You will hear from Mark Binette, Senior Physiotherapist at The Alfred Hospital, and Judith Gorst, Nurse, Family Therapist and Counsellor with extensive experience working with people living with HIV.

We acknowledge that online meetings are not everyone’s preference, and appreciate your patience while we wait for a safe return to in-person events. Zoom is a video chat platform, which can be accessed by smart phone / tablet / computer with an internet connection. If you have any questions or need guidance operating Zoom please contact Sarah at sfeagan@livingpositivevictoria.org.au or 0490 132 604 or Anth at amccarthy@livingpositivevictoria.org.au or 0490 214 554.

Once you have registered, you will be sent a Zoom link to access the event. Please do not share the link. Confidentiality is incredibly important to us. What’s said in the event, stays in the event.

Find a quiet, private place to join the workshop from your device. Headphones / earplugs are advisable and help maintain privacy and confidentiality.

We encourage you to turn on your video for the event, but we’ll understand if you choose to participate with audio only. We aim to create a safe space for everyone.

*Why is it called dinner & chat?
Dinner & Chat is the name given to the monthly gathering of heterosexual men – when COVID19 restrictions didn’t apply. We’d eat a meal together, share experiences of living with HIV, and support each other. At the 2018 adult’s retreat, the men and women decided it would be great to open dinner & chat to women on particular occasions. In June 2019, a “mixed dinner & chat” saw over 20 women and heterosexual men come together to hear a talk about HIV and nutrition delivered by a dietician. This event follows that tradition. This year we won’t be located together eating delicious catering, but please bring something to drink, and something yummy to feast or snack upon while we chat to Mark and Judith.

Living Positive Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
