As part of Melbourne’s Covid-delayed Midsumma Festival, LPV is proud to present an intimate evening of conversations at Hares & Hyenas Hare Hole on Wednesday 28 April and Wednesday 5 May.

Please join us as we celebrate and highlight the lives of those who came, fought, and continue to challenge HIV stigma among us.

Join us in conversation with Christos Linou. Listen to a personal story of a brother’s love that defies judgment of someone who was persecuted by others when HIV was still an unknown virus. Christos’ brother, Jack Linou, died young and beautiful at 33 from HIV /AIDS. Living through incarceration as a “wild law-breaking degenerate drug user”, Jack found safety and freedom through art.

Christos is equipped with the power to challenge and inspire, so come and experience the resilience, love, and courage that comes from those living and affected by HIV. It is through their stories that we are reminded of the human cost of HIV stigma, and the strength that can be drawn from our community.

Christos Linou has also produced a book of his brother’s art and poetry with stories of how Jack tried to overcome his hardship of living with HIV / AIDS.

Tickets will be sold separately for both events. The venue is wheelchair-accessible.

LPV members and unwaged folk are offered access to either or both events free of charge by contacting us at info@livingpositivevictoria.org.au

Make sure you secure your tickets today before they sell out!

Living Positive Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
