Craig A Brennan appointed to the role of President

The Board of Living Positive Victoria has announced Craig A Brennan as the new President of the organisation. The appointment comes at a time of great change around HIV treatment and prevention and the need for a strong sector focus on the continued improvement to the mental and physical wellbeing of all people living with HIV in Victoria.

Upon stepping into the role, Craig said he is “very grateful to the membership and board of Living Positive Victoria for the opportunity to serve as President. It is truly an honour and a privilege.

At the time of my diagnosis I quickly realised the best way to find my path forward was community connection and giving back in ways I was most able. My Senior Management career in High Tech and Financial Services, has afforded me a strong set of leadership, strategic planning, and governance skills that I hope to bring to this new role.

I am confident that as we move forward from the days of lockdowns, that together we can build on our successes and learn from our shortfalls. I look forward to meeting and working with as many of you as possible to ensure that equity is at the forefront to the Victorian HIV response. Thank you for your trust.

Richard Keane CEO of Living Positive Victoria say he is “delighted to welcome Craig to the role of President of Living Positive Victoria. I look forward to the development of a dynamic and productive partnership with Craig as we begin to re-engage with our members and community with a resumption of face to face services and events in 2022, as we face the together, challenges of living with Covid-19 and apply the learnings from the last 2 years to further strengthen our engagement with all people living with HIV in our State.

LPV is in its strongest position ever in terms of providing services and facilitating a range of resilience-building programs for people living in HIV at a time when stigma and discrimination remains one of the biggest barriers to community attitudes around HIV. As President, Craig will lead the organisation into its next phase of growth and empowerment, helping to position LPV as a leading influence in the HIV response in Victoria and having meaningful engagement with the HIV sector nationally and internationally.

Living Positive Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
