Living Positive Victoria’s vision of a world where people living with HIV live their lives to their full potential, in good health, and free from discrimination comes to life with the participation of the Great Victorian Bike Ride to be held from 31 March through to 3 April 2022.
We have formed a team of riders who will ride on behalf of Living Positive Victoria.
“Your support will make a difference to the quality of life of people living with HIV and help address the mental and physical health barriers that alter the ability of people living with HIV to live the best life they can.” Matthew Gallagher, Living Positive Victoria Board member and Team Rider
Sport is largely seen by social scientists and policymakers to promote social inclusion and integration. Sporting activity also massively contributes to peoples’ physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing and, thus, increases their quality of life.
With this initiative, we can achieve two strategic goals:
- Promoting understanding through the visibility of positive lives
- Supporting the wellbeing of people with HIV.
We’re seeking to raise $10k to cover the costs of getting the team and support crew to the event and to highlight the fact that HIV is now a manageable condition and that people on effective treatment cannot pass HIV on.
